Who We Are

Nestled in the heart of downtown Long Beach, Recreational Coffee is more than just a café — it's a creative hub for the community. We pride ourselves on creating a neighborly, welcoming environment where everyone feels at home. Whether you're a local artist, a remote worker, or just looking for a cozy spot to relax, we provide a space that fosters creativity and connection. In addition to being your favorite beloved coffee spot we also host events featuring poetry, music, visual art, and more, all aimed at supporting Long Beach's vibrant creative community.

At Recreational Coffee, we believe in more than just great coffee; we believe in making space for stories, ideas, and collaboration. Whether you're dropping by for a cup of freshly roasted coffee or joining one of our community events, you're always part of something bigger here.

Lead Roaster

Our lead roaster, Brooklyn Warden, brings a unique energy and passion to our coffee that’s as vibrant and diverse as the community we serve. As one of the new owners of Recreational Coffee, Brooklyn is committed to elevating the coffee experience while making it accessible to everyone. A proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Brooklyn's vision for the café reflects a blend of inclusivity, creativity, and a deep love for exceptional coffee. With an innovative approach to roasting, she’s focused on highlighting small-batch, sustainably sourced beans and delivering a coffee experience that is both bold and approachable.

Brooklyn's journey into the coffee world has been shaped by her belief in community and her desire to create spaces where everyone feels seen and heard. Her personal touch is evident in every cup we serve — an invitation to experience something special and to take part in the story of Recreational Coffee.
